La Galleria Maria Grazia Del Prete è lieta di presentare If you’re feeling battered, prima personale in Italia dell’artista svedese Daniel Jensen (Malmö, 1972), a cura di Pericle Guaglianone.
L’artista ha realizzato per l’occasione una serie di nuove opere in cui risulta particolarmente accentuata l’ambivalenza tra un immaginario tenebroso e un’attitudine destabilizzante di leggerezza. Attraverso dipinti e sculture, Jensen introduce lo spettatore in un universo gothic-friendly fatto di apparizioni strampalate e umanissime, sorprendentemente privo di connotati ammalianti e arcani.
La mostra è accompagnata da un testo del curatore.
Daniel Jensen si è diplomato presso The National Academy of Fine Art, Oslo. Tra le sue mostre personali: Cauldron, spazio 1646, Den Haag/L’Aia, Olanda (2010); The yes and no in all things, galleria Alp/Peter Bergman, Stoccolma (2008); Take me to your leader, Galleri 54, Göteborg, Svezia (2005). Ha partecipato a mostre collettive internazionali, oltre che in Svezia anche in Germania, Inghilterra, Olanda, Norvegia e Danimarca. Tra queste si segnalano: Sabine Knust – Knust Kunz Editions, group-show a cura di Sebastian Dacey, Monaco di Baviera (2010); The mask, galleria Mikael Andersen, Copenhagen (2009); Zoo Art Fair – Solo presentation, ALP/Peter Bergman, Londra (2009); Future Primitive, UKS Galleri, Oslo (2007); Imagine the world bursts into song, Laura Bartlett Gallery, Londra (2006). Le opere di Daniel Jensen sono presenti in numerose collezioni pubbliche e private, in Europa e negli Stati Uniti. Attualmente l’artista sta ultimando un progetto per l’archivio pubblico della città di Lund, Svezia.
Daniel Jensen vive e lavora a Stoccolma.

Maria Grazia Del Prete Gallery is pleased to present If you’re feeling battered, first Italian solo show of the Swedish Artist Daniel Jensen (Malmö, 1972), curated by Pericle Guaglianone. For the occasion, the artist has realized a new series of works in which the ambivalence between a gloomy imaginary and a destabilizing joyful attitude is particularly emphasized. Through paintings and sculptures, Jensen introduces viewers into a gothic- friendly universe made up by eccentric and human apparitions, surprisingly free from seductive and mysterious connotations.
The show is accompanied by a text from the curator.
Daniel Jensen graduated from The National Academy of Fine Arts, Oslo. Personal shows include: Cauldron, Spazio 1646, Den Haag/L’Aia, Holland (2010); The yes and no in all things, Alp/Peter Bergman, Stockholm (2008); Take me to your leader, Galleri 54, Göteborg, Sweden (2005). He also took part in international group shows, in Sweden; Germany; England; Holland, Norway and Denmark. Daniel Jensen lives and works in Stockholm.
