Galleria Del Prete

Was born in Voitsberg (Austria) in 1961. In 1980 he moved to Perugia where he studied art at the 'Pietro Vannucci' Academy. In 1984 he graduated in painting with Nuvolo. In Italy he gets in contact with the world of art and makes friends with many international artists. His first exhibitions came during his study years. Afterwards he began exhibiting regularly and his works gained more linguistic autonomy compared to previous Italian and Austrian artists. His work is characterized by a peculiar and careful use of materials, no more employed in a 'poverist' way, but according their shape, color and properties; so they become highly evocative and active in defining the image and, through a rigorous methodological constancy in the construction, make the relation between idea and working evident. He exhibited in personal (Düsseldorf, Moscow, Berlin) and major international collective exhibitions (Milan, Rome , Spoleto, Cologne, Moscow); in 2004 his works were shown in a personal exhibition at Galleria Nuova Pesa in Rome and in 2005 in the collective Arte e memoria 2 at the Ostia synagogue and at the Museum of the Academy in Florence, winning the “David di Michelangelo” Prize.
